Irish Fireside Secret Santa

Some of you know that I am just a teeny bit obsessed with Ireland. I have kind of an obsession with following the Irish Fireside blog as well. Corey and Liam post about all kinds of things Irish – news, events, photos, happenings here in the states. Best of all, I’m pretty sure they both live in Milwaukee – where I grew up! Last week I even won a giveaway from them for a $20 giftcard to Liam’s awesome jewerly company!

I signed myself up for their Irish Secret Santa and was seriously giddy about participating in it. The rules were just that it had to be something Irish in nature and $10 or under. I mailed my secret person a poster I photographed and designed of all the cool doorways in Ireland. This is what she got in the mail and hopefully she likes it

Yesterday as I was covered in flour making gingerbread people, the doorbell rang. It was the mailman with not one, but TWO packages for me! Whoohoo! I signed for them and then when I handed back the pen I realized it was now too, covered in flour. I apologized and the mailman just said ‘Merry Christmas!” I love this time of year.

One of the packages was filled with little wrapped presents from my parents. The other was from someone in New York. At first I was puzzled, thinking, why is this random person sending me something. Then I remembered, “IT’S MY SECRET SANTA GIFT!” Seriously, I was like a kid in grade school with this whole secret santa thing.

I loved that my Secret Santa, Karen,  started out the card with “Happy Christmas!” The Irish way of saying things. Unwrapping revealed a super cute teapot. Chaya was interested in it as well. Also, some really yummy tea! karen wrote that she remembered how incredibly welcomed she was while in Ireland and that there was always tea. What a perfect gift! I may have to steal this for my next year’s secret santa present.  Thanks so much, Corey and Liam, for organizing this! Karen, I love the tea and the cute teapot. Thank you so much! Merry Christmas!
